I started to learn how to play guitar in 1986 and never looked back. I guess
it was about two years in when I first got the itch for a band. At first I was
mainly interested in 1970's rock and heavy metal but by 1995 I had "discovered" the
wonderful sounds of Stevie Ray Vaughan. This "discovery" combined with the 1980's
blues movie "Crossroads" led me to the realization that I needed a blues band.
With the help of Steve Adams on drums and Sheldon Crane on bass
"The Dirty Kitchen Blues Band" was born. Over the years the band went through a few
changes. Terry Fogwill sat in on keys and Jon LeDrew played second guitar
for some shows while David Vivian took over all bass guitar duties. With numerous
gigs under our belts and a two year stint hosting the open jam at The Fat Cat Blues Bar
change was in the wind.

Summer 2001 brought a name change for the band and the release of our debut CD.
The freshly monikered Big Red happily released "... from a Dirty Kitchen"
on June 1, 2001.

Happy Listening!

These days I mainly play either solo acoustic or with my group called The Badcock Four.
Usually the group consists of Sonny Hogan on drums, Brian Kenny on Bass & Paul Monahan
on guitar. Sometimes Steve Adams will play the drums & sometimes Craig Young plays
second guitar.
I will also still do the occasional Trio gig with Sonny & Brian.
